A quantum leap for this strange strain, call it Witch House, call it Zombie Rave, call it Ghostdrone - whatever it is, ℑ⊇≥◊≤⊆ℜ (Cosmotropia de Xam when in human form) has really amped up the horror to extreme levels on "Scanners". It's a place where New Beat meets the furthest reaches of Berlin School, Krautrock and even Harsh Noise. It's not often that I'm literally stunned by a record - this is one of the few.
